About Us

Black Autism Manchester was created in 2023 by Peche Agbasonu. Peche noticed there wasn’t any form of support for black women who have been diagnosed with autism or presumed to have autism.

After being subject to unwarranted racial comments made towards herself in a supposed ‘safe space’ at a support group for adults with autism in Manchester. This incident pushed Peche to create the safe space she wanted for others with autism.

The aim of Black Autism Manchester is to provide and share information and advice to autistic people. We deliver training and resources which are shared exclusively on our website and to members of Black Autism Manchester.

Our aim at Black Autism Manchester is to be a point of contact for those who reside in Manchester. We are open to provide help and support across the United Kingdom with the remote events we host and in-person events. However priority will be given to residents in Manchester vicinity.
